Type for Me!
Welcome to 'Type For Me!'
A typing game where instead of actually typing, you're helping others to type. Made by the Fire Otters team for the GMTK Game Jam 2023.
You're tasked with sliding the keyboard around to fulfill requests from a small family of characters, each providing their own challenge.
Try out the game on your PC or mobile device!
How to Play
'Type for Me!' requires only the mouse or a touchscreen to play.
- The goal is simple - click & drag the keyboard around, and aim the character's finger for the desired key
- Made a mistake? You can make a couple, but be careful! Backspace any erroneous letters and try again
- Your highest combo and best accuracy will be saved. Go for a perfect score!
- Touching the desk (or the keyboard back-plate / pause button) does not count as a mistake for your combo/accuracy
Post-Jam Update (v1.1)
- We're done with developing a post-Jam patch. The game-play loop has been made more forgiving, extra levels were added, and various other changes were made. A blog post detailing the changes is here: https://benchi99.itch.io/type-for-me/devlog/609265/version-11-released
- We have no plans to further update this game with features. Any feedback or bug reports are still greatly appreciated!
- Thanks to the glowing feedback of our game design peers in the GMTK Game Jam 2023, our game accomplished a spot in the top 50 games in the Creativity criteria, and an Overall score in the top 10% of the 6,805 games submitted to this year's jam. Thank you!! We hope you enjoy the final feature update to our game - our team appreciates the thorough feedback we received!

It´s incredible how adicting and frustrating this game is. Probably with random seed level design like an infinite mode would really fit in and get some replayability (and a record ranking table). Besides it´s dificulty which isn´t really a problem if it had a better dificulty curve. I think this game needs some better kinestetic, make the act of pressing the correct letter something more pleasant for the players and pressing the incorrect one more stressful. This game shine at it´s best if you decide to make scalated frustration like "getting over it".
Really interesting game. It has a simple idea, but it encourage to play more and improve your skill. There is a little issue with increased speed, but the design kept me trying for a long time.
I absolutely love the groans the grandpa makes when searching for "cheap pills"
